Making Fossil Fuel Market Green!

For years now there are researches and investments that are dedicated to find new ways to reduce fossil fuel negative impact on the world's environment by finding alternatives fossil fuels. But is that enough and will that be applicable in the next 10-15 years? So why not try to make fossil fuel industry more efficient, less polluting and greener market? What will be the impact of that on the environment?

As it is known fossil fuel market is a huge market that is estimated to be of hundreds of billions of dollars so it will make sense to apply some enhancements to this market that will make it more environmental friendly to earth. But how can this be done?

Please note that we are not going to refer to the automobile industry as we think that it needs a totally different article, nor we are going to refer to factories for example plastic factories (though we might consider dedicating an article or more about these things). In this article we are going to look at the industry from the point these fossil fuels are extracted from the earth to the point they are delivered to produce energy.

In this industry there are many process that are applied and so there is a need to work on each process to make it more efficient or at least become less polluting.

The Oil refinery is the first place where Oil is refined and turned into more useful fuels. Such processes releases polluting gases and odors moreover water is used and becomes a mere waste. So in order to reduce the environmental impact water must be treated to become as safe as possible and gas emissions too need to be filtered or catalyzed in order to reduce toxic gases released in the process of Oil refining. This environmental awareness applied in the most polluting and intoxicating areas will effectively reduce enormous quantities of water, air and soil pollution. So even the most polluting processes can become less polluting when acting responsibly upon its emissions and wastes. In addition an oil refinery needs too much energy and this too can be reduces by using better ways of treatment or at least using more effective insulating material (To know more about Oil refining)

After fuel refining, it is either stored for later use or shipped away by pipelines or oil tankers to the power planet. In the power planet this fuel is burned and used to heat water in huge water boilers and steam is used to run one or more turbines to start producing energy.

The turbines are becoming more and more efficient due to better designs and better use of materials and thus increasing the productivity of these turbines and making better use of water running through the dam, for further info about Turbine Improvements at Hoover Dam please follow the link provided.

However there is still another question to be asked which is, Is burning fuel to produce electricity the best way to generate it? Well I don't think that petroleum produced electricity is the best use of petroleum as petroleum can be used in many processes one of which is the production of plastics and petrochemical processes that are much better ways to use petroleum.

But what are the alternatives to generating electricity? Well this subject too is going to be postponed to another article that well be written later.

Finally it is known to all of us that fossil fuels and their extraction methods are one of the most polluting domains. And it is very important to increase the efficiency of such fuels and reduce their negative impact on the environment. Furthermore, having a more efficient industry is not only better to the environment but is is more economical and profitable, thus there is a need for such an industry to be as efficient as possible especially when the market is as huge as this.
