I would strongly recommend recycling cans, glass, cardboard and paper. Many counties make it compulsory and provide you with boxes to collect it in and then a bin man will collect it certain times of the week. This isn't compulsory everywhere but I feel it should be. If you live in a small village take it in turns to take it to the nearest recycling bins. This means you'll be recycling without it taking hours of your time!
